Functional Development Screeners

Functional Development Screeners

Helping assess developmental skills

We offer free occupational therapy screeners for children aged 2–5 years who are not yet in school. These screeners are conducted by qualified occupational therapists and are designed to identify early signs of developmental delay or areas where your child may benefit from additional support.

Each individual session takes around 30 minutes and explores key areas of your child’s everyday functioning, including:

  • Fine motor skills (e.g. drawing, using scissors, manipulating small objects)
  • Gross motor skills (e.g. balance, coordination, core strength)
  • Self-care skills (e.g. dressing, feeding, toileting)
  • Sensory processing (how your child responds to touch, sound, movement, and other sensations)
  • Play and social participation

A parent or carer must be present during the screener.

Results are not a formal diagnosis; however, if areas of concern are identified, a more detailed assessment may be recommended.

Once your booking is confirmed, a consent form will be emailed to you and must be completed prior to your appointment.
