Feeding Program
What is the ‘SOS’ approach to feeding?
The Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) feeding approach was developed over 30 years ago by Dr. Kay Toomey. It is an evidence-based feeding program that is designed to assess and address problematic feeding behaviours. The approach highlights the notion that there are six major “steps to eating” – eating does not begin at the mouth!
What is the ‘Mealtime Matters’ Program?
The ‘Mealtime Matters’ program is designed for preschool-aged children who experience ‘picky eating/problem feeding’. The program is delivered in a supported and personalised environment. It focuses on increasing a child’s comfort level by exploring and learning about the differing properties of food. We focus on interacting with food in a playful and non-stressful way. Let’s make food and mealtimes fun!
What does the program look like?
- 9 x small group sessions in a clinic setting (parents to remain on site)
- 3 x parent workshops, run simultaneously with group sessions
- 2 x home visits to explore family mealtimes and develop supportive strategies for your family
