About the Program

Stronger Sibs is a school holiday day camp designed specifically for siblings of children with disabilities, developmental delays or additional needs. The program provides a unique opportunity for children aged 9 to 14 years to connect with other siblings who share similar experiences.

Held at CCC Camps Hawkesbury, the camp helps participants build friendships, try new activities and develop practical tools to better understand and navigate the unique experiences that can come with having a sibling with additional needs.


Who Should Attend This Program?

This program is suitable for children aged 9 to 14 years who have a sibling with a disability, developmental delays or additional needs.


Objectives

  • Provide siblings with the opportunity to connect with others who understand their experiences
  • Encourage children to try new activities and build confidence
  • Help participants explore their strengths and unique qualities
  • Strengthen communication with family members and siblings
  • Develop strategies to manage big emotions and tricky feelings

Activities may include:

  • Canoeing
  • Archery
  • Laser tag

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided each day.
