How long have you been working with Stronger Together Foundation? And what is your role?

I have been working here for two and half years and my role is Early Intervention Educator who facilitates or supports onsite group programs.

What inspired you to work with kids? Was it the fun toys or something else?

I have grown up in a big family and we always had fun playing. Lots of nieces and nephews to play with. Also my brother has a physical disability and I wanted to be a Hospital Play therapist after spending time visiting him in hospital.

What’s your go-to funny story from working with kids? (Spill the beans, we love a good laugh!)

After 35 years of experience I have a few.

What’s the best part of your day? Is it that first sip of coffee or a little victory with a kiddo?

I get a real buzz when a child has a little win or achievement.

What’s your favourite activity or game you play in sessions?

Have a few “Somebodies hiding under the rug”; acting out rhymes with the children.

When you’re not at work, where would we most likely find you?

At home or at a music festival with my husband.

What is your favourite animal? And do you have any pets?

We have a dachshund called Molly and a cat called Stewie.

What’s your guilty pleasure snack that powers you through a long day?

Pizza sauce and cheese wrap
