Join Sarah Lovett for a practical and affirming two-part workshop designed to support children with a PDA profile and the families who walk alongside them. Drawing on professional expertise and lived experience, Sarah creates a space for honest conversations, real-world strategies and compassionate understanding.
This workshop is suitable for allied health professionals, parents and carers, extended family members, and anyone wanting to better understand and support PDA children and their families.
About the Presenter
Sarah Lovett is an Accredited Social Worker who specialises in supporting children with a PDA profile and their families. With a Master of Social Work and undergraduate degrees in Paramedicine and Leisure & Health, Sarah combines professional expertise with lived experience as a proud autistic woman and parent of autistic PDA twins.
Having completed advanced PDA-specific training with leaders including the PDA Society UK, Kristy Forbes, Casey Ehrlich and Bobbi Cook, Sarah brings both evidence-informed knowledge and deep personal insight to her work. She is passionate about helping families move beyond survival mode, empowering parents to understand PDA, advocate confidently, and create environments where their children are heard, included and celebrated.

Session 1: Let’s Discuss PDA

What you will learn
- PDA & autism; how are they different and why autistic strategies don’t always work?
- The escalating nervous system: how to support our children in a dysregulated state.
- Why does it appear that my child is trying to control me? Let’s discuss equalising behaviour.
- Parent burnout.
Session 2: The Schooling Debate
Monday 25th May 1-3pm NSW

- How best to support PDA.
- Low demand parenting: why is this important?
- What is school burnout and how do we avoid it?
Session details
- Format: Online workshop
- Length: Each workshop will be 2 hours consisting of 90 minutes training + 30 minutes Q& A
- Recording: The session will be recorded and available to attendees for 2 weeks after the event
