Reframing our Role as Allied Health Professionals with Em Hammond AKA NeuroWild

This session explores how allied health professionals can create meaningful, long-term impact by moving away from neuronormative frameworks and towards radical acceptance, neurodivergent pride, and genuinely affirming practice.

About the Presenter

Em Hammond is a late-diagnosed Autistic and ADHD speech pathologist, illustrator, and the person behind the NeuroWild social media account. She is also a mum to three neurodivergent children and brings both professional and lived experience to her work.

This workshop is suitable for:

  • Allied Health Professionals
  • People who want to make positive changes in their work, practice, or everyday life

What you will learn

  • What meaningful therapy looks like when wellbeing and mental health are prioritised
  • Reframing our professional role and responsibilities
  • Initiating respectful, confident conversations with families about neurodivergent traits
  • Playing the long game
  • How clinicians can have the greatest impact across a child and family’s journey
  • Moving away from neuronormativity and towards radical acceptance and neurodivergent pride

For those who have previously attended a workshop with Em, this session will go deeper into the NeuroWild BINC (Background Information for Neurodivergent Clients) tool, guiding participants in how to meaningfully interpret and use the information gathered through the questionnaire to inform affirming clinical practice.
