Neurodiversity-Affirming Practices with NeuroWild

Parent Workshops

Join Em Hammond from NeuroWild for an engaging online workshop exploring neurodiversity-affirming practices with new insights and practical tools. Building on her previous session, this updated presentation introduces fresh content around masking, fawning, and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), making it valuable for both new and returning participants.

About the presenter

Em is a late-diagnosed Autistic and ADHD speech pathologist, illustrator, and the human behind the social media account NeuroWild. She is also a mum to three neurodivergent kids.

This course is for you if:

  • You’re an Allied Health Professional

  • You’re an Educator or Teacher

  • You support neurodivergent children

  • You’re ready to make changes in your clinical practice, life and work

Learning outcomes:

  • Apply neurodiversity-affirming frameworks and practical tools to support Autistic and ADHD children across educational, clinical, and community contexts.

  • Identify common misconceptions about Autistic and ADHD behaviour and communication, and their influence on adult responses.

  • Describe less visible aspects of Autistic and ADHD experiences, including RSD, and their impact on self-concept and wellbeing.

  • Examine how RSD and other lived experiences shape the development of identity and self-advocacy in neurodivergent children.

Re-examine the influence of adult perspectives and responses, adopting approaches that prioritise adult responsibility in advocacy and accommodating fluctuating capacities.

This session will be recorded and available for attendees to review for 2 weeks post the session
