This is where your support goes, real programs, real families

As we approach June 30, there’s an opportunity to make your generosity go further and help us make a meaningful impact on the lives of local families who have a child with additional needs.

At Stronger Together Foundation, we deliver programs and initiatives that offer essential resources, services, and opportunities to families in our community. Here’s where your generous donations will make a difference in the coming year:

Where Your Donations Go

1. Andy Bear Club Program
Our Andy Bear Club is a small group program designed to help children with developmental delays and neurodivergent needs prepare for school. Running two mornings a week, the program focuses on early learning skills, social interaction, and confidence-building. With minimal fees for families, fundraising is essential to keep this vital program running. Read Luca’s story here

2. Family School Holiday Events
For many families of children with disabilities, attending public events can be challenging. Our community family days at venues like Inflatable World and Lollipop’s Playland provide a safe, judgment-free space where children can simply be themselves. These events welcome up to 250 attendees, giving families a place to connect and enjoy quality time together.

A parent from a recent event shared:

“It was the first time we felt truly comfortable at a public event. Seeing our child play freely without judgment was priceless.”

3. Sibling Programs
Siblings of children with disabilities often take on unique roles within their families. Our SibWorks Program, designed for 8–12-year-olds, runs over three days during the school holidays. It provides a supportive space where siblings can share experiences, build resilience, and connect with others who understand their journey.

4. Sensory Breakout Spaces at Community Events
Large events can be overwhelming for children (and adults!) who need a quiet space to regulate. Our sensory breakout tent is featured at key community gatherings, including:
• The Mayor’s Children’s Easter Egg Hunt
• Glenhaven Carols
• The Mayor’s Children’s Christmas Party
• Orange Blossom Festival

This initiative ensures inclusive participation in community celebrations by providing a safe and calming retreat for those who need it.

5. Free Speech Screening for Children
Early support is critical for children who may need speech therapy. This year, we are offering free speech screenings weekly during the school term, helping to identify children in need of support as early as possible.

6. Stronger Together Annual Conference
The Stronger Together Conference is a lifeline for up to 250 local parents who care for children with disabilities or neurodivergent needs. It features guest speakers sharing real-life experiences, helping parents navigate the highs and lows of their journey. The conference also includes an exhibition of local support services, fostering connection and reducing the isolation many parents feel.

A past attendee shared:

“This conference changed my perspective. I no longer feel alone in this journey, and I’ve discovered resources I never knew existed.”
