We are pleased to share that the Stronger Together Foundation has been formally acknowledged in the NSW Parliament through a Community Recognition Statement. This recognition highlights the work we’re doing to support families of children with disability and developmental delays—and in particular, celebrates the success of our first School Options Workshop, held earlier this year.
Starting school is a significant milestone for every child—and for families of children with additional support needs, the process of choosing the right school can be complex, emotional, and at times, overwhelming.
Our School Options Workshop was designed to ease that burden. Specifically tailored for parents and carers whose children will begin formal schooling in 2026 or 2027, this workshop provided a supportive and informative space to explore a variety of schooling options.
The event featured a panel of speakers from a diverse range of education providers, including:
- Aspect Hills Shire School
- Department of Education
- New Hope Christian School, Dural
- Ngarra Christian College (Norwest Christian College), Riverstone
- St Gabriel’s School, Castle Hill
- Warrah Specialist School, Dural
Each representative shared insights into their school’s programs, values, and the specific supports available to children with diverse learning needs. Families had the opportunity to ask questions during a dedicated Q&A session, gather resources at information stands, and engage in meaningful conversations with school staff—all within a relaxed, community-centred environment.
To have this workshop recognised in Parliament is a proud moment for our organisation—and a powerful endorsement of the value of inclusive, community-driven initiatives.
Community Recognition Statements are short speeches delivered in the NSW Parliament, or written statements recorded in the Hansard of that day, that shine a light on the positive contributions of individuals or organisations. We are grateful to be acknowledged in this way, as it elevates the voices of the families we support and reinforces the importance of making educational pathways more accessible and informed for everyone.
It is a reminder that our work matters. That families deserve clarity, connection, and choice. And that when we come together to create spaces that support and uplift, incredible things can happen.
We look forward to making the School Options Workshop an annual event and continuing to support families as they navigate this important stage of life.
